Leo Dunson served in the United States Army from 2003 to 2008. Obtaining the rank of SGT and deploying to War in Iraq in 2006 with the 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team. Leo was a member of the 1st 17th Infantry Battalion out of Fort Wainwright, Alaska. SGT Dunson was awarded many medals, accommodations, badges and ribbons during his term of service to include the Combat Infantryman Badge, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Meritorious Unit Citation, Expert Marksmanship Badge, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Expert Infantryman Badge as well as many other decorations.
Music Career
Shortly after leaving the Military, Leo Dunson started to make music as a healing method to cope with the “Traumas of War.” This music became therapy and motivation, not only for Leo, but also for many other Military Veterans around the World. Leo wrote songs by his Military Rank, as “SGT Dunson.”
SGT Dunson recorded & produced several albums to include “Life after the Military,” “From Boots to Books,” “God Bless America,” “War on the Home Front,” “American Soldier,” “To Hell and Back,” “Soldier Music” and more.
