A census report is out today outlining that in 2016 many middle class families saw a rise in their incomes. Incomes rose mainly for those in the cities and suburban areas.
Unfortunately folks in rural areas lost income and so did black Americans. Hispanic & Asian Americans saw the highest gains in their hold hold income, White Americans also saw some gains yet not as big of a jump as the two groups mentioned.
I remember speaking to a woman last year online who told me about the 60s and how close the Black Family unit was. She also told me how in America in general the family unit was promoted instead of not mentioned at all like today. Looking at the numbers of the two groups who had the highest income gains, I can’t help but mentioned the cultural commitment that Hispanics & Asian Americans have to family.
